Keys for Kidz

The AAPF's newest program, "Keys for Kidz, " provides subsidized piano classes for children who could not otherwise afford to study music.  All styles of Western Music are explored and studied as kids learn beginning keyboard skills in an interactive and encouraging group environment while gaining valuable exposure to the world of music and the fine arts.  These group lessons are currently provided near the heart of downtown, using five Yamaha Digital Pianos donated in 2013 by Piano Emporium, Asheville's local Yamaha piano dealer.

The Keys for Kidz program hopes to help instill a lifelong appreciation for music study, while providing opportunities for continued success and enjoyment, leading to stronger, healthier, and more well rounded members of the next generation.

Our first class started in August of 2011, and we want to thank the Mission Healthcare Foundation and all of our volunteers & families for their participation and assistance in helping us begin!

What is needed to help this program to grow?  Donations of all kinds would be appreciated:  from music to metronomes, pencils to pianos, music-related posters and of course, scholarship funds.  All donations are tax deductible.

We would also like to extend an invitation to any piano teachers who would like to participate by donating a portion of their time and talents. Please get in touch--we'd love to hear from you!
