THE PIANO FORUM’S 15th ANNUAL SPRING BENEFIT CONCERT

March 29, 3-5 PM, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation located at 1 Edwin Pl., Asheville.

  • Performers will include

Ticket prices: $25 adult; $20 paid in advance; Patron: $50; Students 5-25: $5.

6   Feb 6: Student Masterclass sponsored by the Asheville Symphony as part of LudwigVaniversary Piano Series. Clinician is concert artist Nikolai Lugansky. 6:30 at Central United Methodist Church, Asheville.


7   Feb 7: LudwigVaniversary Piano Concert by Nikolai Lugansky. Location: United Methodist Church on Church St. in Asheville. Tickets available through the Asheville Symphony.


14   Feb 14: LudwigVaniversary Piano Concert by Mari Kodama. Location: United Methodist Church on Church Street in Asheville Tickets available through Asheville Symphony.


16   Feb 16 (Snow Date Feb 23): Student Ensemble Recital  Pieces for two pianos, piano with ensemble, and 4 hand duet are featured. Contact Kimberly Cann, chairman, for recital location and times.

29   Mar 29: Spring Benefit Concert of AAPF, a fundraiser for the Student Assistance Awards. Pianists present a recital featuring in-depth works for piano in a variety of styles. Concert is at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation on Edwin Pl., Asheville.

3   May 3: Winners Recital  of the Asheville Piano Competition. Time: 3pm; location: Broyhill Chapel on campus of Mars Hill University.


9   May 9: Board of Directors Meeting  Time and location TBA.


16   May 16: Annual Meeting of AAPF  Annual Meeting of AAPF (election of board and officers, budget proposed and voted upon) with Presentation by Shelley Hartman “Chopin: Life, Times, Works, and Practice” incorporating the latest scholarship from the new Alan Walker biography. Mr. Hartman will also talk about his practice techniques. 9:30 for Social Greeting time, 10:00 for annual meeting, 10:30-12:00 noon presentation.
