Julius Smith
Bio: I have been playing from a young age as my father played both jazz and classical and taught me what he could at a young age. Later on, around 18 I became more serious after moving to Chicago and beginning to play with groups there. At 22 I studied privately, learning jazz performance and theory from a retired professor. I've recorded at home a lot and continue to play as I explore the Asheville music community. I've traditionally played funk, blues, jazz, soul, and have been beginning to explore more Latin music. I also enjoy classical styles and many others. I am open to performing and teaching improvisational theory.
