Student Assistance Awards

As part of the Asheville Area Piano Forum’s charitable and educational mission, awards are available to pre-college piano students studying with AAPF member teachers. The awards are made based upon financial need and merit. Proceeds from ticket sales of both the Fall and Spring Benefit Concerts are a principal source of funding for the awards.

Continuing Private Piano Lessons Awards are made to students who can demonstrate financial need and are willing to show commitment to their piano studies by participation in performance events such as a Student Recital, or participation in the Asheville Piano Competition. See here for more information and application.

New Student Awards are made to help students who have not studied before, but have shown an interest and would not be able to study without help. More information and application here.

The Instrument Loan Program provides digital pianos and keyboards to students who are being supported with Assistance Awards. More information here. For the Letter of Intent to Care for AAPF-Owned Pianos and Equipment see here.

Outreach Classes such as the Keys for Kidz programs and Crescendo: Piano in the Schools programs are supported by AAPF.

Summer Music Camp Awards can be available to student families with financial need in order to attend a Music Camp or special Summer Music Program. AAPF recognizes the value of Summer educational programs for serious music students with these awards. Application here.

Note: Student Assistance Funding will be awarded based on the funds raised during the previous season.
